A friend of David's, themythicalman, and I decided to collab on a song for the Song Slam last night. Given our schedules, we had only one day to write, polish, and rehearse it.

In just 6 months of self-teaching, along with help from the likes of gaffetheorist and Jim, my future ukulele duet band-mate, I have gone from:

"How do I hold this thing?" "What's tuning?"

to being quite close to being at:

LEVEL 3 intermediate: This player can hold a steady rhythm, and is competent with a variety of basic chords (for example: A, Am, B7, C, ( Read more... )

I'm learning this song on uke, mostly so I can educate people about the *cough* relative "quality" of Katy Perry's by the same name. *smiles*

(Both songs are actually challenges for me to learn. Surprisingly.)
